In The End of Things, a drum beats slow time, two coracles are launched, and their inhabitants embark on a journey with an unknown destination. Hand-built and gaudily painted, the two boats bob absurdly against the grey sky. Flags are lowered and raised; a fire is lit; the watchers raise their voices in lament. The atmosphere is at once mournful and ridiculous; absurd actions are undertaken with the utmost solemnity.

This project was the outcome of a residency at Fremantle Arts Centre in 2014.

'The End of Things (boat, fire, flag, drum)' is a five-channel video installation. This film takes excerpts from each of the five videos to create a single timeline of the performance they document.
